This sedation is inhaled through a mask that allows you to breath in the medication and induces a state of relaxation. Local anesthetic will also need to be administered to eliminate discomfort during the dental procedure. Many people report that it also has a slight amnesic effect, meaning their memories of the procedure become less clear.

Mild Oral Sedation

Mild Oral Sedation- specific sedative drugs that can be used safely and effectively will be prescribed by the dentist. Some of these medications have significant amnesic effects. In some instances, patients will barely remember the procedure the following day. In this type of sedation, the patient will need to have someone drive them to and from the dental appointment.
